We are having a free fitness day on May 23rd to kick it off! The entire community is welcome. We are hoping to sign kids up for at least one of our 4 week sessions at the free fitness day. Our program is once a week for one hour.
California Sports Center - San Jose, CA
Members and staff from all 6 California Sports Center gymnastics locations will come together at Lincoln Glen Park in San Jose for a celebration from 2 - 5pm. We plan to hold a cartwheel-a-thon fundraiser, along with team demos, and 6 fitness challenge stations and related activities. A bounce house and BBQ will round out the festivities. Champions Academy - Morgan Hill, CA
We're hosting an all day event on September 12, starting at 11 am. The event is called the Champions Bay Best Gym Fest, which includes Tyson Fitness Challenge, exhibitions by Stanford & Berkeley University team members, Olympic silver medalist, elite and junior Olympic team members, and youth sports organizations. We're also having various food, health and fitness booths by local businesses. It will be an event to remember.

Pacific West Gymnastics will be hosting free classes, arts and crafts, fun carnival games, team demonstrations and more on Saturday, September 12th from 1 to 5pm. Hershey Aerials - Hershey, PA
Gymnastics Center of Hershey, Friday, September 11th, 5-9pm. We will be setting up a fitness challenge inside the gym where kids can come in and take different fitness challenges. All children participating will receive a certificate when the challenge is completed. Outside we will have face painting, fingernail painting, hair braiding, dunk tank, a chicken BBQ, etc. We will also be holding a cartwheelathon in October to fully support the Children's Miracle Network.

River City Gymnastics & Cheerleading - Converse, TX
On Sat. Sept. 12 from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m., River City Gymnastics & Cheerleading will be hosting a Celebration of Fitness at our Converse location. We're having a big tent at the Dyer Hometown Celebration. We'll have a big obstacle course in the tent. We'll charge $1.00 to go through the obstacle course and donate all monies to the Children's Miracle Network. We'll have teachers there to spot and staff to pass out info on our gym. At 4-5pm we have the stage and will do demos of tumbling, our jazz team, KarateBears, CheerBears, and our Hip Hop classes.

We are really excited about our National Gymnastics Day Plans! We are celebrating on September 12th from 3:00 unitil ? at the gym. We are hosting an "Alumni Invitational" and inviting all of our graduated team members to come back for a fun competition to showcase some routines for fun. For example, our level 5 coach is a former collegiate athlete and she is going to do the level 5 compulsory routines on each event with some added twists. We have heard from several others that are also going to do old routines or just some skills they still have up their sleeve. We are also inviting all of our current team and class members to attend and meet gymnasts and coaches of the past and participate in a cartwheel-a-thon to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. This is the first year we have made plans to donate and are hoping that it is a successful day for everyone.

Our club will be having the Tyson Fitness Challenge as a clinic on September 26th. We have invited the Oklahoma University Gymnasts to come down to help run the event, sign autographs and do a little exhibition. We also are asking and area sports physician to talk about how fitness and healthy nutrition is important. We are getting sponsors from an area nutrition program to bring articles about how to start eating healthy and a gym in town to provide information about exercise. The local healthy food restraunt will provide a healthy snack. We are trying to get more sponsorship that relates to the event such as exercise and healthy living to give things to the kids. We are doing exercise contests and giving away prizes as well. We are charging a $10 fee at the door to come in and particiapate in the event or the kids can take a packet and try to raise money for the charity. All money received will be going 100% to Children's Miracle Network! We hope and pray this will be a good event to help children raise their awareness about being healthy and helping sick children in need!

Idaho Falls Training Center - Idaho falls, ID
We are having an open house for our National Gymnastics Day. Nothing original, but we will be doing it from 10am-4pm. It is free to the public and having free concessions, too. Our boys and girls teams will be doing exhibitions every half-an-hour on the 15 min markers. Also, every hour on the 30 min markers we will be having relay races with a parent/child team having to do with certain Tyson Fitness Challenge activities. The radio station will be here from 2-4pm and it will be some great fun. The economy has caused a strain in attendance over the summer, so, we're doing it for free (with no fundraisers, sorry!) but finally in the last two to three weeks business is picking back up. On National Gymnastics Day Horizon Gymnastics Center participated in the Popcorn Festival Parade. We built and entered a float with the theme "Gymnastics and Cheer....Worth Celebrating" The float featured a large "statue" of a male gymnast holding up a cheerleader. Our contingent of walkers included Horizon's All-Star cheer squad, our Mini-Stars cheer team, a boys' group, and girls' competition teams.
